Yesterday I was getting involved because I was playing King,Popcorn and Bounce with Candice, these games involve a netball and a netball hoop and this can be played with two or ore players, these games are all to do with shooting skills,the learner qualities that I was showing were Excellence because I was playing safely, I was also showing leadership by motivating Candice that she could get it in when she was far away.

My Short Story

I have been focusing on my vocabulary and punctuation. I have been learning to Use a range of precise vocabulary to communicate meaning (Year ⅞) use all basic punctuation independently and attempt more complex punctuation (e.g semicolons, colons, parentheses) (Year 7/8).

The pieces of my writing that are highlighted green are where I have shown my vocabulary and punctuation goal.

My Story...

Nervous, excited,scared,it’s Rebecca’s first day of her tour guiding job.

BANG!! …… One day there was a 17 year old girl named Rebecca, she is a teenager who loves to go for a walk in the forest, she has just started a job as a tour guide, guiding people in and around the forest in Wellington. She is very kind to others and she loves to meet other people. Rebecca lives in Wellington with her parents and younger sister ( Molly). This will be Rebecca's first time guiding people in and around the forest. Rebecca loves to get involved in everything that she can, Rebecca’s best friends are Brooklyn and Gemma who are also tour guide’s.

On the first day of her tour guiding job she found a new friend, her name was Talia and she ended up being Rebecca’s best friend. On the second day of her job she had to tour two Adults and two kids and Rebecca loved guiding them because they were very kind, they loved Rebecca guiding them because she was very descriptive in what she was saying about the forest.

On the third day she took one of her groups on the tour and since it is in Wellington it means that it is very windy and then they heard a BANG!! (and it was one of the big tree’s that feel over from the wind), so they were stuck and they were walking on sinking sand so they sunk and ended up in this very dark cave.

They were walking for 30 mins in the cave and came to this mysterious door, Rebecca tried to push the door but it started creaking so Rebecca tried again and again , on the third time she tried to push the door she fell through the door then they see this big open  space ……“LOOK!!! this is where me and my friends have lunch”. Rebecca explained..

After that, the three children and the three parents who were in the group that Rebecca was guiding they got invited to have lunch with Rebecca and the team because of what happened , because the team felt sorry for what happened , They were very pleased that they got invited and they all had a lovely afternoon having their lunch all together.

Today I was getting involved by playing with Candice and Brook today we were playing on the playground. On the playground we were on the monkey bars doing tricks and swinging across from bar to bar,The learner qualities that I showed were Respect because I was listening and showing respect to others. I was also showing leadership because I was motivating Candice that she could get up on top of the monkey bars.

Today I had Peer Mediation and it was great because I had no problems to solve. Which means that everybody was playing nicely with there friends,I was walking around the field then went to the Junior area. The leadership qualities that I showed were Respect because I was respecting there ideas even though they didn't have a problem in the end. I was showing leadership by turning up to my job right time right place.

Investigate situations that involve elements of chance/ Probability

I learn't that you need to half both numbers until you can't half them both then that should be your answer. 

I can describe the structure of a Short Story

Something I have learned about the structure of short stories is:……… That they talk about the problem straight away.

After reading some short stories two things I will remember when I write my own short story are … Talk about my problem at the start of the story… and … That the problem can be good or bad.

I can evaluate the effectiveness of a leader

This is my conclusion on my exposition draft writing


Conclusion

I think that Richie McCaw is a better leader  because he has taken part in a lot more leader things than Taylor swift. I think Richie is more confident as in he will talk to the team more confidently than Taylor swift, Richie is also very humble in what he says .
